Initial release - 2026-10-06

First published version of the wiki: a complete, cross-checked reference for the Texas Instruments TMS320C5x and the c5xtools toolchain.

  • Architecture overview, CPU and status/control registers, memory and I/O.
  • The six addressing modes, program control and interrupts.
  • The full instruction set on a single page, with per-instruction cycle timing, cycle classes and the four-stage pipeline.
  • The assembler (source syntax, directives, macro language), COFF and sections, the linker command language, and the hex/ROM record formats.
  • How c5xtools relates to the TI toolchain, and the processor-family scope.
  • Register bit-fields, memory maps, addressing and bus layouts, the pipeline and the hex record formats drawn as SVG figures; everything in pure 7-bit ASCII.
