Windows support
v1.4.0 is published with a tested Windows x64 installer and matching v0.2.0 Windows VSIX. Download the tested release. Native Windows runner validation passed storage, launch/isolation, extracted VSIX and exact NSIS install/update/restart checks. Validation manifest and package hashes.
Current platform support and validation
Windows support targets native x64 VS Code and the desktop launcher. Saved accounts use %APPDATA%\multi-codex, shared by the desktop app and extension. Credentials use the Windows credential store and private account directories have protected Windows ACLs.
Windows Terminal and PowerShell are supported terminal targets. Only installed supported launch applications appear in launch choices. Paths with spaces and Unicode are handled as native arguments.
The Windows extension contains its native .exe helper and uses authenticated named pipes. Its executable wrapper avoids requiring Unix shell scripts or changes to the PowerShell execution policy.
GitHub Windows runners verify native storage and locking, backend switching, packaged VSIX behavior in real VS Code, and the app installer. Passing fixture tests does not establish real OAuth or cloud quota behavior; validation notes distinguish those checks.
Standalone desktop account isolation is enabled for the exact verified official Windows app build 26.930.61225. Native two-home and cold-restart checks use inert credentials; real OAuth/browser sign-in, credential rotation and cloud quotas remain separate untested limits. Other builds fail closed until verified. Windows virtual-desktop placement and WSL/Remote SSH are outside the initial support scope.
