Games
Nyerk was built for AION 2 but works for any game, and one server can run several.
The web page asks which game Nyerk is for:
- AION 2 comes ready: the launch events, the four world bosses on the usual route, six ping categories, eight classes and gear score options, with daily shugo.gg schedule suggestions on Defaults.
- Another game starts blank apart from the party finder's availability windows. Add its events and bosses (Events), ping categories (Roles), and classes, dungeons and gear score options (Party finder). A game with no gear score options skips gear scores.
An install from before games became one game called "AION 2" when it updated, with everything it had. A copy of the database from just before is kept as data/nyerk-before-v1.db.
Admin → Games adds a game (from the AION 2 template or blank), renames it, switches it off or deletes it. The game picker at the left of the top bar chooses which game the web page shows; Events, Boss timers, Maintenance, Defaults, Roles, Party finder, Stats and the game part of Settings are for that game.
| Each game has its own | Shared by every game |
|---|---|
| Timer channel and dashboard, events, boss timers and alerts | Roles channel (each game gets its own class and gear score selectors there) |
| Party finder channel, panels, parties and registrations | Logs channel, time zone, link preview, access |
| Ping categories, classes, dungeons, gear score options and Tank/Support/DPS roles | Members' quiet hours (they pause every game's dungeon pings) |
| Dashboard wording, boss report and party timing settings |
- Each game needs its own timer and party channel: each keeps its dashboard or panels at the bottom of its channel.
- Members can be in one party and hold one registration per game, and have a gear score per game.
- With several games, role names in the roles channel,
/nyerkboss choices, My roles and the web page name the game ("AION 2: World Boss").
To move a server from one game to another, add the new game and switch the old one off. A switched-off game sends no alerts, keeps no dashboard or party finder, and leaves the roles channel, but keeps all its setup and history, so switching it back on picks up where it left off. Deleting a game removes its events, timers, roles setup, party finder and stats for good, and takes down its dashboard and panels in Discord; the Discord roles themselves stay.
Servers on the same Nyerk can run one party finder together, so members of a small server find groups with a bigger one.
- The owner of the server whose party finder is shared (the home) opens Games, and under Party finders shared with other servers clicks Share: make a link code next to the game. The code works for 24 hours, for any number of servers.
- The other server's owner pastes the code next to their game and clicks Join. That game's own open parties close and its sign-ups end; its own classes, dungeons and gear scores stay but go unused while it's linked.
- On that server's Party finder page, under Shared party finder, give each shared class and dungeon a role in that server (or click Create role for dungeons), set its Tank, Support and DPS roles, then post the party finder panels and repost the roles channel.
What's shared and what isn't:
- The home's classes, dungeons, gear scores, availability windows and party timings are used everywhere; they're edited on the home only.
- Parties, sign-ups and party status show in every linked server's party channel. Listings show which server each member is from.
- Roles stay per server: classes, type roles and dungeon ping roles are each server's own.
- Pings and mentions stay in each member's own server: a new party pings each server's dungeon role and its own registered members, in its own channel. The ready ping mentions each server's members in their channel; the closing warning goes to the leader's server.
- Each server's members page, quiet hours and logs stay its own. On the Party finder page, the home's admins can close any party or cancel any sign-up; a linked server's admins can for parties and sign-ups started from their server.
- Either side can Unlink at any time. The linked server's sign-ups end and the shared parties leave its channel; parties already formed carry on. Link codes and links aren't part of a settings export.
A settings file holds every game (format 2). Importing matches games by name and adds any that are missing. A file from before games (format 1) imports into the game the web page is showing.
