Why can't I resize the window?

Fixed window prevents the resize bug from v1.4. The 700x640 size is optimal for all features without scrolling.

Why is Settings button disabled?

It's a preview. Shows planned features for v1.6. Currently informational only - click to see what's coming.

How do I access downloads?

Click "Open Downloads Folder" button at the bottom. Opens directly in Explorer.

Where is the About info?

Click "About" button at bottom left. Shows version, features, and contact.

How do I get help?

Click "Help" button at bottom right. Quick guide with instructions.

Can I add a custom icon?

Yes! See ICON_GUIDE.md for instructions. Use your eagle logo as .ico file.

🐛 Known Issues

Minor Issues

No Custom Icon Yet: Uses default Windows icon. See ICON_GUIDE.md to add your logo.

Settings Read-Only: Settings button shows preview only. Full functionality in v1.6.

Fixed Window Size: Cannot maximize or resize. This is intentional to prevent bugs.

Workarounds

Want Bigger Window: 700x640 is optimal size. For larger displays, just position window where convenient.

Custom Icon: Follow ICON_GUIDE.md or use ResourceHacker to add icon post-build.

❓ FAQ

Why is v1.2 better?

The build system was completely rewritten. The old method tried to create 110MB C arrays which caused GCC to run out of memory. The new method uses Windows native resource embedding - 10x faster, zero errors.

Do I need to rebuild my existing executable?

Only if you want the latest yt-dlp/ffmpeg versions. Your v1.0 standalone still works fine.

Is it safe? Antivirus flags it!

This is a false positive. Large executables with embedded binaries sometimes trigger heuristic scans. The code is open-source - verify it yourself!

Can I update yt-dlp/ffmpeg?

Yes, but you need to rebuild:

1. Download latest yt-dlp.exe and ffmpeg.exe
2. Run build_standalone_v2.bat
3. New executable includes updated tools

Does it work offline?

After downloading, yes! All tools are embedded. You only need internet to:

• Download YouTube videos (obviously)
• Initial download of the executable

First Run

1. Download snatch_v1.4.exe
2. Double-click to run (no installation needed)
3. Wait for dependencies to extract (~1 second)
4. Start downloading!

Basic Usage

Method 1: Type URL

1. Enter URL in text field
2. Select Type (Video/Audio/Playlist)
3. Choose Quality
4. Click "Add to Queue"
5. Click "Start Downloads"

Method 2: Drag and Drop

1. Copy YouTube URL to clipboard
2. Drag text into SNATCH window
3. URL appears in text field
4. Select options and add

Method 3: From System Tray

1. Copy YouTube URL
2. Right-click SNATCH tray icon
3. Select "Paste URL from Clipboard"
4. Window opens with URL filled
5. Select options and download

Queue Management

Adding Items:

• Each item can have different quality
• Mix videos, audio, and playlists
• Maximum 50 items per queue

Starting Downloads:

• Click "Start Downloads" when ready
• Progress bar shows completion
• Status text shows current item
• All controls disabled during download

Clearing Queue:

• Click "Clear Queue" button
• Only works when not downloading
• Removes all queued items instantly

System Tray

Minimizing:

• Click minimize button on window
• SNATCH hides to system tray
• Icon remains visible in tray

Restoring:

• Double-click tray icon, or
• Right-click → "Show Window"

Quick Paste:

Why GUI instead of terminal?

The terminal is powerful but intimidating for many users. GUI makes SNATCH accessible to everyone while keeping all the functionality.

Can I still use the terminal version?

Yes! v1.3 terminal version is still available and fully supported. Use v1.3 for automation, scripts, or if you prefer terminal interfaces.

Does drag and drop work with browsers?

Yes! Drag the URL from your browser's address bar directly into SNATCH. Or drag selected text containing a URL.

What happens when I minimize?

SNATCH hides to the system tray. Your downloads continue if running. The window is hidden, not closed.

Can I exit while downloading?

The window close button minimizes to tray. To actually exit, right-click the tray icon and choose "Exit". Active downloads will stop.

Does it remember my settings?

Currently no. Each session starts fresh. Settings memory is planned for v1.5.
