NES uses MPI domain decomposition along the X, Y or time axis. Its Python interface supports:
- Reading NetCDF metadata lazily and loading selected variables.
- Creating regular, global, MONARCH global, rotated, nested rotated, LCC, Mercator and point datasets.
- Horizontal nearest-neighbour and conservative interpolation, and vertical interpolation.
- Daily statistics, rolling means and global reductions.
- Native and model-specific NetCDF writing, incremental writing and latitude-longitude GRIB2 export.
- Shapefile creation, spatial joins, geometry areas and MBTiles export through Python.
The user guide describes these workflows and the available command-line tools.
NES is distributed under the Apache License 2.0. See the LICENSE in the source repository.
The installation guide describes the MPI-enabled environment provided by the project Makefile.
If an issue occurs, report it through the source repository, including the NES version, command or script, MPI process count and relevant error output.
