Grid cell area
Calculate cell area, generating spatial bounds if needed, and write the dataset with its cell measures.
nes gridarea -f input.nc -o with_area.nc
Argument
Meaning
-f, --filepath
Required input NetCDF
-o, --output_file
Optional output NetCDF
If -o is omitted, the command writes to the input path and overwrites the input. Use a separate output to retain the original. The command loads the variables and calls calculate_grid_area(overwrite=True). Point datasets cannot generate polygon spatial bounds.
