Loon v1.17.1-L8

Loon Firmware v1.17.1-L8 is based on MeshCore v1.17.1.

Changes

• Removes the !about command entirely.
• Ping replies now put the repeater-hop count before the route using Hops: N | Path: ....
• Hops counts only inbound repeater hashes; the receiving companion endpoint does not add a hop.
• Existing stored configuration is unchanged and preserved by application-image updates.
• Clean/full installations retain the current default-off command controls.

Loon v1.17.1-L7

Loon Firmware v1.17.1-L7 is based on MeshCore v1.17.1.

Changes

• Adds the authenticated persistent loon.help.test on|off setting.
• The setting controls only !help on #test; it does not affect any other command and never enables help on Public.
• Help defaults to off on clean/full installations.
• Application-image updates preserve all existing Loon settings and initialize the new help control to off.
• GitHub Actions now accepts the exact release version so every supported-board artifact embeds Loon v1.17.1-L7.

Loon v1.17.1-L6 is based on upstream MeshCore 1.17.1 with Loon increment L6.

Changes:

• Adds optional exact inbound path IDs as a formatted second line on Heltec V3 Discord webhook posts.
• Adds the authenticated wifi.webhook.path on|off setting; it defaults to off.
• Loon ping replies label enabled details as Request path; direct receptions show direct.
• Existing Wi-Fi, webhook, channel, radio, and Loon preferences are preserved by normal application-image updates.

Supported release targets:

• Original Heltec WiFi LoRa 32 V3 (8 MB, no PSRAM): application .bin for updates and merged .bin for clean/full installs at offset 0x0.
• RAK4631/WisMesh Repeater Mini: UF2 and ZIP.
• Heltec T114 with display: UF2 and ZIP.
• Heltec T114 without display: UF2 and ZIP.
• Seeed SenseCAP Solar Node P1 and P1 Pro (shared target): UF2 and ZIP.

For a clean/full installation, erase first and provision radio, network, and administrator settings afterward. Normal application-image updates preserve stored configuration.

Loon v1.17.1-L5

Loon v1.17.1-L5 is based on MeshCore v1.17.1.

• Restores authenticated Wi-Fi OTA mode on Heltec V3.
• Cleans the Loon boot screen: no meshcore.io line, with the complete Loon version and build date on separate lines.
• Adds a CI regression gate that rejects Heltec V3 builds missing Wi-Fi OTA support.

Application images preserve existing configuration. The Heltec V3 merged image is for a clean/full USB installation at offset 0x0 and uses current clean-install defaults.
