Devices

The Devices tab is how you connect a physical tablet/terminal running the Food POS App Android app to your account.

How device login works

A device key is a one-time-use code — it gets permanently tied to the first device that logs in with it. This means:

  • One key = one terminal, going forward.
  • If you need to set up a new terminal, create a new key rather than reusing an old one.

Creating a key

  1. Go to Devices.
  2. Click Create New Key (a key is generated automatically).
  3. On the tablet, open Food POS App and log in using your store's account email and that key.
  4. The device is now permanently linked — logging in again from the same physical device continues to work; the key can't be used to log in a different device afterward.

Device limits

How many active devices you can register depends on your account type:

Account type Max devices
Demo (trial) 1
User (paid) 50

The Devices page shows how many you're currently using and how many you have left.

Managing existing devices

The device list shows each terminal's name, make/model, Android version, app version, and status (Active/Disabled). From here you can:

  • Edit — change a device's key or enable/disable it
  • Delete — permanently remove the device record (this frees up a device slot, but the removed device would need a brand-new key to reconnect)

App version requirement

If a terminal's app version is too old, it's blocked from logging in until it upgrades. If you run into an "upgrade required" message, update the Food POS App on that device from the Play Store/Amazon Appstore.
