Keyboard Editor
The Keyboard tab controls the actual button grid your cashiers tap on the terminal to ring up a sale — separate from the Products/Addons/Toppings catalogs, which just define what can be sold. A product has to be placed on a button here before it shows up on the register.
When creating or editing a button, you choose a Button Type:
- Folder — a button that opens into a sub-grid of other buttons, used to organize the keyboard into sections (e.g. a "Drinks" folder containing all drink buttons)
- Product — links to a specific catalog item; search for it by name in the Search for Item field
- Topping / Addon — links to a specific topping or addon
- Tender — a payment button (Cash, Check, Credit Card)
- App Link, Text — additional button behaviors for less common cases
Many product and folder type buttons can also has an Image, uploaded when you create or edit it and shown on the terminal. When editing a button that already has one, a preview appears next to the upload field along with a Clear Image checkbox — check it (without uploading a new file) and save to remove the image, which falls back to that button type's default look. Uploading a new file always replaces the existing image regardless of that checkbox.
Buttons live inside a folder (or at the top level, if no folder is selected). To build out a section of your menu:
- Create a Folder button (e.g. "Sandwiches").
- Open that folder and add Product buttons inside it for each item.
Use the edit/delete icons next to each button in the list to change its type, image, or linked item, or remove it. Deleting a button doesn't delete the underlying product — it just takes it off the keyboard.
