Troubleshooting

The recipe does not appear

  • Confirm both packs imported and Andy's Portable Campsite is active on the world.
  • Confirm Andy's Portable Campsite Resources is also active at version 1.5.0.
  • Use Minecraft Bedrock 26.40 or newer.
  • Use a normal Crafting Table and the exact 3×3 pattern: six matching wool blocks, lantern on top, bed in the center, campfire on the bottom.
  • Mixed wool colors do not craft the kit.

The Comfort hearth recipe does not appear

The hearth recipes live in the optional Andy’s Portable Campsite - Comforting Campfires Bridge pack, not in the main Behavior Pack.

  • Confirm Andy’s Comforting Campfires 0.1.10 or newer is installed and active on the world.
  • Confirm the Comforting Campfires Bridge pack is active as well.
  • Minecraft will not let the bridge pack activate without Comforting Campfires installed, which is deliberate: it is what keeps hearth recipes out of the content log for players who do not use that add-on.
  • Community Comfort campfires are not portable-kit ingredients.

The kit will not deploy

  • Pack up your existing active campsite first. Only one camp per player.
  • Select the kit in the hotbar and keep it selected until placement finishes.
  • Use it on the ground with space for the five-block-long tent, entrance posts, and campfire.
  • You cannot deploy a kit that belongs to another player.
  • If the action bar says deployment failed safely, the tent was rolled back and the kit was returned. Try a clearer spot.

The tent faces the wrong way

Face the direction you want the entrance before using the kit. Rotation snaps to 90 degrees.

I cannot pack up

  • Interact with the campfire, not the lanterns or wool.
  • Only the owner can pack up.
  • If the tent was altered, restore swapped blocks. Pack-up allows missing (air) blocks but not replaced ones.
  • From 1.5.0 the refusal names the exact coordinates of the blocking cell, what the camp expected there, and what it found. Go to those coordinates and put the expected block back.
  • If the chest could not be secured, pack-up is refused so items are not lost. Try again.
  • If cleanup stopped safely, use the campfire again.

I cannot pack up a camp that uses a Copper Lantern

Copper weathers on its own. In versions before 1.5.0 a camp's Copper Lantern could turn exposed, weathered, or oxidized on its own hours after the camp was pitched, and pack-up then saw a block it had not placed and refused permanently. The camp lanterns also cannot be broken, so there was no obvious way out.

Update to 1.5.0 or newer. Every copper oxidation stage, waxed or not, now counts as the camp's own lantern and the camp packs up normally. On an older version, scrape each camp lantern back to plain Copper Lantern with an axe and pack up again.

Items dropped on the ground when I packed up

This was a bug in versions before 1.4.2, where the chest handed its contents back twice: the archived copy returned to the chest on the next deployment, and a second copy dropped on the ground during pack-up.

Update to 1.4.2 or newer. The chest now stores each item once, pack-up leaves nothing on the ground, and everything is waiting in the chest when the camp is deployed again.

If pack-up is refused with a message about the chest not being emptied safely, check whether you have placed your own chest directly against the campsite chest. The two form a large chest that shares one container, so the add-on refuses rather than touching storage that is not its own. Move that chest and pack up again.

The kit did not return after pack-up

Check the ground at your feet. A full inventory causes the returned kit to drop safely instead of going into a slot.

The chest is empty after a replacement kit

Craft and deploy the replacement with the same Minecraft player identity that owned the original camp. A different player has a different chest archive.

The tent, bed, and lanterns are rebuilt each deploy. Only the chest archive is restored.

Other players can see my tent but cannot use it

That is intended. Other players cannot pack up your camp, break its blocks, or open its protected chest.

Camp blocks will not break

Temporary campsite blocks are protected. Pack up through the campfire. They are not a wool, bed, or lantern farm.

The bed is the wrong color or missing

Version 1.3.2 introduced the colored-bed structure placement and corrected tent pole. Confirm you imported Andys_Portable_Campsite_1.5.0.mcaddon and that both packs show 1.5.0. Remove older Portable Campsite packs, then re-import.

Pack versions do not match

Delete both Andy's Portable Campsite packs from global storage and re-import Andys_Portable_Campsite_1.5.0.mcaddon.
