Inquiry View

The Inquiry View is the second major workspace in Radial Timeline. It is designed for corpus-level manuscript analysis rather than scene-by-scene editing.

Open: Command palette → Radial Timeline: Open Inquiry, or click the waves icon in the ribbon.

Overview

Use Inquiry View when you want to step back and evaluate how scenes, books, and supporting material work together as a system.

The view centers on several distinct UI surfaces:

  • Inquiry glyph — the main radial analysis display
  • Minimap — scene and corpus context tied to findings
  • Corpus Manager — in-view scope and corpus overrides
  • Briefing Manager — recent sessions, reopening, reset, and purge actions
  • AI Engine Popover — engine readiness, request size, and AI configuration status

What Inquiry View Is For

Use Inquiry View when you want to:

  • scan a book or saga for loose ends, continuity issues, and pressure gaps
  • compare Flow and Depth across zones
  • limit or override the current corpus without leaving the view
  • generate briefings and briefing articles from current findings
  • write inquiry action notes back to scenes

Full Guide
