Getting Started

Signing in

LemmeCook uses Google sign-in — click Sign in with Google in the header. There's no separate LemmeCook password to manage.

You can browse public recipes, cookbooks, and profiles without signing in. You'll need to sign in to create recipes, rate or comment, save things to a cookbook or grocery list, follow people, or message anyone.

The home page

Signed out, the home page shows recent public recipes. Signed in, it also surfaces your own recent recipes.

Browsing and searching recipes

The Recipes page (linked from the header) lists all recipes you can see (public recipes, plus your own private ones). From there you can:

  • Search by title, tag, or ingredient — one search box, live results as you type.
  • Filter by visibility (all / public / private) and sort (most recent, highest rated, most comments).
  • Browse tags — a dedicated page lists every tag in use, with a count, so you can browse by category instead of searching.
  • Hit Random recipe if you don't know what you're looking for.

If a recipe has been forked by other users, the browse list collapses the original and its forks into one card with a "▸ N forks" toggle you can expand, instead of listing them as separate-looking entries.

Public profiles

Every user has a public profile at /u/<username> listing their public recipes and public cookbooks. You can get there by clicking any user's name anywhere in the app. See Sharing and Visibility for more on what shows up there.
