Stable reference release

Version 1.2.9 is the permanent validated baseline for Hackman3D LayerShot. Its macOS and Windows installers and all included ESP32 firmware variants remain available even after newer versions are published.

Klipper camera setup

• Detects the webcam configuration directly through Moonraker.
• Adds Activate camera in Klipper when a Creality camera stream exists but is not registered.
• Supports the built-in WebRTC stream used by tested K2 and SparkX printers.
• Displays the full camera image with its original aspect ratio, without cropping or scroll bars.
• Never mistakes the Fluidd dashboard for a camera stream.

ESP32 reliability

• All camera firmware profiles retry their saved 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi every ten seconds.
• Optional fixed ESP addresses include local availability and conflict checks.
• Gateway, netmask and DNS settings are detected automatically on macOS and Windows.

Downloads

Install the desktop application, select the printer and Wi-Fi network, then let LayerShot flash and configure the ESP32-C3. Standalone firmware files are also included for recovery and advanced use.

• Correctly reconstructs tiled iPhone HEIC/HEIF photos before previewing and rendering timelapses on macOS.
• Prevents cropped, zoomed or incorrectly rotated output caused by FFmpeg decoding only one HEIC grid tile.

Firmware updates independent of the desktop app

• LayerShot now reads the latest firmware catalogue directly from GitHub. New ESP32 firmware can be detected and installed without updating the Mac/PC application.
• The ESP32 page warns when installed firmware is obsolete and shows installed and available versions.
• Quick installation always selects the latest firmware automatically, with the bundled firmware as an offline fallback.
• An optional advanced checkbox reveals older official firmware versions for troubleshooting.

ESP32 panel improvements

• Shows the saved printer name together with its IP address and port.
• Periodic refresh is now silent: the connection label no longer flashes between Connected and Connecting.
