Does it work on my firmware or GoldHEN version? If GoldHEN's plugin loader works on your PS4, RemotePad NG should too. It doesn't depend on the firmware. It was tested on firmware 10.01 with GoldHEN v2.4b18.10.

Can I play single-player games with it? Yes. Set Pad 1 to the user who started the game: see Players and PS4 Users → Single-player games.

Can I use an Xbox, DualSense or Switch controller? Yes. Connect it to the phone or computer that has the page open, not to the PS4: see Playing → Controllers.

Can I plug a controller straight into the PS4? No. That would need a USB controller driver inside the plugin, which doesn't exist yet.

Does it work in the PS4's menus? No, only inside games, because RemotePad NG is a game plugin. You need your DualShock to start a game.

How many players? Up to four pads. The game decides how many players it accepts.

Is it the same as the original remotePad? RemotePad NG is a maintained fork of remotePad by xfangfang, with many fixes, a new page, and new features. It uses the same files, so you can switch by replacing remote_pad.prx.

Does it work over Ethernet? Yes, any network connection works. Ethernet on the PS4 gives the lowest delay.

How much delay is there? On a good home network, a few tens of milliseconds. See Troubleshooting → Input lags.

Can I play with friends over the internet? Yes:

1. Share the screen with a capture card and a streaming or screen-sharing app.
2. Give your friends access to port 4263, preferably through a VPN or a tunnel instead of an open port.
3. Set lock_settings=1 so nobody can change your settings: see Settings Reference.

Is it safe on my network? Other websites can't control your pads or change your settings, and the settings can be locked. Anyone on your network can use the pads, though. See SECURITY.md.

Can I write my own client (an app, PSP homebrew, a script)? Yes: see For Developers.

How can I support the project? Report bugs, share which games work on the Compatibility page, or support it on Ko-fi.
