Installation

This puts RemotePad NG on your PS4. You only do it once; updating later is just replacing one file.

Coming from the original remotePad? Replace /data/GoldHEN/plugins/remote_pad.prx with the new one and you're done (step 3 below). Your plugins.ini and remote_pad.ini keep working.

Before you start

• Your PS4 runs GoldHEN.
• You have a computer on the same network as the PS4, for copying files over FTP.
• You know your PS4's IP address: on the PS4, go to Settings → Network → View Connection Status and note the IP Address, for example 192.168.1.20.

1. Download the plugin

Download remote_pad.prx from the latest release.

2. Connect to your PS4 with FTP

1. On the PS4, open Settings → GoldHEN, go to the server settings, and turn on the FTP server.
2. On your computer, open an FTP program like FileZilla or WinSCP, and connect:
   • Host: your PS4's IP address, for example 192.168.1.20
   • Port: 2121
   • User and password: leave them empty (anonymous)
3. Go to the folder /data/GoldHEN/.

3. Copy the plugin

Copy remote_pad.prx into /data/GoldHEN/plugins/. If the plugins folder doesn't exist, create it.

4. Tell GoldHEN to load it: plugins.ini

GoldHEN loads the plugins listed in /data/GoldHEN/plugins.ini. Two details trip up a lot of people:

The file goes in /data/GoldHEN/, next to the plugins folder, not inside it.

The name is all lowercase: plugins.ini. Plugins.ini doesn't work. On Windows, check that the file isn't really plugins.ini.txt: turn on "File name extensions" in File Explorer's View menu.

If plugins.ini already exists (you use other plugins): download it, open it in a text editor, and add this line under [default]. Then upload it back.

/data/GoldHEN/plugins/remote_pad.prx

If it doesn't exist: create a text file named plugins.ini with this content and upload it to /data/GoldHEN/:

The path in the file must match where you copied the plugin, letter for letter.

5. Turn on the plugin loader

On the PS4, open Settings → GoldHEN → Plugins Settings and tick Enable Plugins Loader.

6. Start a game

Start any game. After a few seconds, a notification shows the address to open:

Open http://192.168.1.20:4263 on your phone or PC

The plugin only runs inside games, so the page only works while a game is running.

7. Open the page

On your phone or computer, open the address from the notification in a browser, then pick a pad. That's it: see Playing.

Tip: on a phone, use Add to Home Screen in the browser's menu. RemotePad NG then opens full screen, like an app.

Updating

Download the new remote_pad.prx, replace the one in /data/GoldHEN/plugins/, and restart the game.

Uninstalling

Remove the remote_pad.prx line from plugins.ini, then delete the plugin file. The settings file /data/GoldHEN/remote_pad.ini can go too.
