Changelog

2.0.0

HUD settings

The party HUD is now fully customisable per player. All settings are stored on the client in config/partylink-client.json and are the same on every server. See HUD Settings.

  • New HUD settings screen with four tabs and a live preview: open it with HUD & Design... in the party settings or with the new key Open HUD Settings (unbound by default), also without a party.
  • Design: three styles (Futuristic, Classic, Minimal), eight preset colors or any RGB color, background opacity, animations on/off, text shadow, member colors on/off.
  • Display: detailed or new compact layout; header, player heads, yourself, offline members, level, HP text, HP bar, XP text, XP bar, distance and add-on lines can each be turned on or off; sorting by party order, name, distance or health; max. rows with a "+N more" line; hide the HUD while you are alone.
  • Size & position: scale 50–200 %, width 140–320, auto scale for small windows, nine screen anchors.
  • HUD editor: drag the HUD with the mouse, it snaps to the nearest anchor; the mouse wheel changes the scale.
  • Pings & world: marker size, ping labels on/off, ping sound volume, glow.
  • Existing 1.x HUD settings (visibility, heads, size, color, position, glow, ping sound) are taken over automatically.
  • The party settings screen is shorter and grows with the member list, so large parties no longer overlap the buttons.

API (version 3)

  • Client: setHudSuppressed, isHudSuppressed, isHudEnabled, getHudBounds (PartyHudBounds) and getHudAccentColor. See Client API.
  • Fully backwards compatible with API versions 1 and 2.

Compatibility

  • Same network protocol as 1.2.x: 2.0.0 clients and servers work together with 1.2.x.
  • Fabric, Forge and NeoForge for Minecraft 1.20.1, 1.21.1, 1.21.11, 26.1.2, 26.2 and 26.3.

1.2.0

New features

  • Party chat: /party chat <message>, /pc <message>, and /pc alone to send all your chat to the party.
  • Roles and management: /party promote, /party demote, /party transfer, /party rename, /party create, /party deny. Invites now have [ACCEPT] and [DENY] buttons and a configurable expiry.
  • Public parties: /party public, /party join, /party browse. Public parties stay open with one member.
  • Party teleport: /party tp, /party tpaccept, /party tpdeny with warmup, cooldown and an option for other dimensions.
  • Ping types: danger, target and loot pings with their own colors, labels and keys; optional ping sound.
  • Death markers: the party sees where a member died, plus a chat message with coordinates.
  • Glow: party members are outlined through walls (personal setting).
  • Party names in the HUD, chat and settings screen.
  • Admin commands: /party admin list, /party admin disband <player>, /party admin reload.
  • Config: many new options, every option is now commented in partylink.properties. See Configuration.

API (version 2)

  • Cancellable events: ALLOW_INVITE, ALLOW_JOIN, ALLOW_LEAVE, ALLOW_KICK, ALLOW_CHAT, ALLOW_TELEPORT, ALLOW_PING, plus PARTY_DAMAGE and MODIFY_SHARED_XP.
  • New notifications: OWNER_CHANGED, PARTY_RENAMED, VISIBILITY_CHANGED, CHAT_MESSAGE, PING_SENT, MEMBER_TELEPORTED, DATA_CHANGED.
  • Party control: create, invite, add/remove members, set roles, disband, rename, public/private, messages, pings.
  • Queries by party or player UUID that also work for offline players.
  • Custom persistent data per party.
  • New client API with party data, ping/update events and extra HUD lines.
  • Fully backwards compatible with API version 1.

Fixes

  • Shared XP now counts merged XP orbs correctly; before, merged orbs could lose XP or be shared twice.
  • P opens the PartyLink settings instead of vanilla's Social Interactions on PartyLink servers.
  • When the owner leaves, a manager is preferred as the new owner.
  • Network channels are versioned, so different PartyLink versions on client and server no longer misread each other's packets.
