Compatibility and FAQ
| Mod | Status |
|---|---|
| Solo Mining | Supported. Party members can enter each other's gates; Solo Mining uses the PartyLink API |
| Mods without PartyLink support | No conflicts known. PartyLink adds no blocks, items or entities |
| Vanilla clients | Can join and use all commands and party chat, but see no HUD or markers |
PartyLink only changes vanilla behaviour in three places:
- XP orbs – picked-up XP is split for parties with Shared XP on.
- Player damage – damage between members is cancelled when Party PvP is off.
- Glowing – party members glow on your own client when Glow is on.
Pressing P opens "Social Interactions" instead of the party settings. That happens on servers without PartyLink, or when you are not using the same PartyLink version as the server. On a PartyLink server PartyLink takes priority. You can also bind Open Party Settings to another key.
I don't see the HUD.
- You must be in a party (
/party list). - PartyLink must be installed on your client and the server, in compatible versions (1.2.x or 2.0.x on both sides).
- Check
/party hud onand the HUD switch in the HUD settings. - F1 (hide GUI) also hides the party HUD.
A ping doesn't show up.
Pings are only shown in the dimension where they were placed. Check partyPingAllowed and pingCooldownSeconds in the server config.
Teleport is cancelled all the time.
You must not move or take damage during the warmup (teleportWarmupSeconds). Server owners can set it to 0.
Can I have more than 8 players in a party?
No, 8 is the maximum (maxPartySize 2–8) so the HUD stays readable.
How do I reset everything?
Disband parties with /party admin disband <player>, or set keepParties=false and restart (this deletes all parties).
Do mods need to be updated for 1.2 or 2.0? No. The API is backwards compatible; mods built for API version 1 or 2 keep working.
Where are my HUD settings after updating to 2.0?
They were copied from the server into config/partylink-client.json on your computer the first time you joined your party with 2.0. From then on they are the same on every server. See HUD Settings.
The HUD is in the way / off screen.
Open the HUD settings and use Move HUD... to drag it, or Reset Position. Deleting config/partylink-client.json restores all HUD defaults.
Please open an issue with your PartyLink file name (loader + Minecraft version), the server/client log and the steps to reproduce.
