- Has fix for the MPI and internal DDT issues (same fix)
- Dom encountered new issues getting capgen into NEPTUNE

Do we still look at the project board?
- It’s not up to date, which is problematic
- People agree that it’s useful
-
Capgen presentation at physics meeting debrief
- Seemed to go well
- People learned a lot from Dom’s history
- Seemed to be received well; people were engaged
- Lisa asked about 3D physics - something that we can’t really handle but can feasibly integrate into host models
-
Dom’s feeling like we need a redesign
- Working on a new version of capgen
- SIMA folks are fine with this if it works and seems like a good design
- Some concerns about resorting to redesigns when things get hard
- Dustin has sunk a lot of time into things and feels like there’s not a clean way forward
- Cheryl is concerned about NCAR abandoning the CCPP if we don’t unify (internal concerns)
- How can NCAR help current capgen while Dom works on his version of capgen?
- We need it to work in SCM to show it can work
- NCAR folks can keep working on current capgen in the meantime (starting with getting the DDT mods to work in CAM-SIMA)
- Dom to share his overall design document; and will share the code when it passes all the tests
We will meet next week; Mike will be out of town
