Backup

English | Nederlands

The intro asks which backup you want. There are two good options.

A cloud folder

iCloud Drive, Google Drive, OneDrive or Dropbox. Handy if you work on more than one computer. Two things need to be set right.

Keep the folder available offline. Cloud storage often keeps files online only, to save space. Your AI assistant and the weekly check cannot read them then. Right-click the vault folder and choose:

Service Option
iCloud Drive Keep Downloaded
Google Drive Available offline
OneDrive Always keep on this device
Dropbox Make available offline

Keep syncing on. Your cloud storage program has to run, or the backup stands still. Do not work in the same note on two computers at once: the cloud then makes a copy with "conflict" in the name.

GitHub

Free, github.com. An online vault with history: every version of every note is kept, so you can always go back. Put the vault in a private repository, never a public one. With the GitHub Desktop app you do not need any technical skills. If you choose this option, the assistant prepares a backup after every /save-context and sends it to your own GitHub.

Both

You can also use both: a cloud folder to work on several computers, GitHub for the history.
