Getting Started

This page is the fastest route from first join to useful progress.

First five minutes

  1. Accept the server resource pack. Java players need it for custom models; Bedrock players receive the Bedrock pack through Geyser.
  2. Open /menu and look through Profile, Gear, Challenges, and Community.
  3. Open /settings. Leave Drop Safety on, then choose whether you want spawn and boss music.
  4. Speak to Mira the Guide for the season overview.
  5. Speak to Mayor Bah and Torren the Miner to start long-running quests you can complete while exploring.
  6. Use /team if you want to play with friends. Teams can share a vault and join boss fights together.

Before staff runs /startsmp, players remain inside the launch barrier. The Season of the Veil introduction plays for everyone when the season actually begins, not on early setup joins.

Your first trip out

  • Speak to Corin the Fisher for a one-time free boat and a simple fishing quest.
  • Set a safe home with /sethome.
  • Use /veinminer to check whether vein mining is enabled. Sneak while mining to activate it.
  • Normal mining, hostile-mob kills, XP gain, and player kills build Essence progress automatically.
  • Returning players log back in where they logged out. /spawn safely returns you from the Overworld, Nether, End, or an idle dungeon; it cannot be used to escape an active boss fight.
  • Use /warp list to see public destinations; each can also have a short command such as /tavern.
  • Discover player-built Waystones by right-clicking their signs. Right-click a known waystone again to travel between discoveries.

Your first upgrades

  1. Open /reliquary and browse Tools and Gear.
  2. Build basic storage and gathering tools before spending rare boss materials.
  3. Speak to Brannik for reforging and Orin for the complete upgrade explanation.
  4. Follow this order for a permanent item:
Craft and smith → Enchant → Reforge → Direct Orbs → Runic Loom
                                              ↓
                               Awaken OR Corrupt last

Awakening and corruption are alternative final paths. Awakened items cannot be corrupted, and surviving corrupted items are permanently sealed from further edits.

Your first boss

  1. Open /bossrituals to preview the ten boss tiers and costs.
  2. Prepare enchanted diamond gear for the Veilbound Marshal.
  3. Bring 25 Essence, 1 Bell, and 1 Golden Sword.
  4. Speak to Malakar the Gatekeeper at spawn and enter the Boss Dungeon.
  5. Confirm the boss with the inner Gatekeeper. Payment is taken only when your fight reaches the front of the queue.
  6. Your team members already in the dungeon join automatically. Other online teammates and allies can accept during the 10-second preparation countdown.

If you die, you spectate until the fight ends. Loot is participant-only for two minutes, then the arena returns everyone to spawn and safely returns leftover owned items.

Good early goals

  • Finish Torren's first four ore shipments for the Veinwake Pick.
  • Find hidden goblins for Essence and turn in findings to Grikk for Mining Luck.
  • Complete the Overseer's rotating daily for Essence and XP Bottles.
  • Finish Corin's fishing jobs for Shoreline Companion.
  • Repeat early bosses for their guaranteed materials before rushing the next tier.
  • Start Mogrik's Boss Mastery ledger; victories count even before every reward is claimed.

Important safety rules

  • Do not put backpacks inside backpacks.
  • Close a backpack before moving, trading, labeling, or upgrading it.
  • Check every confirmation screen. Valuable-item actions and wagers use explicit confirmation or escrow.
  • Keep inventory space available before large rewards. When a protected payout cannot fit, the system keeps it pending instead of deleting it.
  • Use /shops collect, /spinbet claim, or the relevant menu after making space if a payout is waiting.
  • If an item appears missing after a death, backpack problem, or interrupted transaction, stop moving related items and contact staff. The server keeps recovery records.
