Meal plan
The meal plan covers the next seven days and answers one question the single recipe view cannot: what do we need to buy for the whole week?
Each day is a card. For an empty day you can either
- tick Suggestion wanted and press Roll suggestions — every ticked day gets a random recipe at once, no recipe twice in the same week — or
- press choose manually and search for a specific recipe.
Optionally filter the roll by tag first, the same way as on the suggestion page. The 14-day cooldown for recently cooked recipes applies here too; if some day cannot be filled without breaking it, the cooldown is relaxed for that day and the page tells you.
Each planned day has its own servings, independent of the base recipe — Sunday for six, Tuesday for two.
Change swaps the recipe, Remove clears the day.
The button at the bottom puts the missing ingredients of all planned days into the Picnic basket in one go.
The important part is what happens behind it: stock is counted once across the whole week, not per day. If Monday and Thursday both want 300 g of the same pasta and you own 500 g, the app orders one further pack — not two. Rounding surpluses are credited back to the pool, so a pack bought for Monday also counts towards Thursday.
Two kinds of ingredients cannot be handled and are listed by name rather than quietly dropped:
- without a Picnic link — nothing to order.
- units not comparable — the recipe asks for grams, the item is counted in pieces.
As everywhere in Proviant, this only fills the basket. Checkout stays in the Picnic app. See Ordering.
