A small glossary of terms used throughout RiftLauncher.

VS Versions

Versions are the base game files: assets, code, executables. This is what you download on RiftLauncher's VS Versions page.

Installations

Installations are folders where the data for each installation is stored: worlds, configs, mods, maps and so on.

Servers

Servers are similar to regular installations but much lighter and work a bit differently. A server holds both the version and the installation in the same folder, and it only works as a server, never as a client.

Note: servers are under development and not available yet.
