Exploration and Exobiology
The EXPLORE tab tracks everything you haven't sold yet — cartographic data and biological samples — and tells you what's worth landing for.
Every body with biological signals in your current system, with genus value ranges and the sample-spacing distance (how far apart the three samples of each genus must be taken).
- ◇ community data: when you arrive in a system, genera other commanders have already mapped are pulled from Spansh and shown immediately — before you even honk. Map a body yourself (DSS) to confirm.
- Predictions: where nobody has mapped yet, the app predicts genus candidates from atmosphere, temperature, gravity and body class. Estimates, not fact.
- Your own DSS scans always take precedence over both.
- ★ first-log estimates: bodies nobody has logged biology on are flagged — the Vista Genomics 5× bonus goes to the first commander to log a species on that body (not "first footfall"). The app estimates your chances from discovery state and community data.
While you're scanning an organism, a live card shows the species, progress (1/3, 2/3…) and — using your real position from the game — the live distance to sample clearance, with a "sample clear" voice callout the moment you've walked far enough. No more guessing colony spacing.

Completed samples with their estimated Vista Genomics payout, including ★ FIRST LOG ×5 badges where the bonus is likely. Cleared when you sell (or die — be careful out there, Commander). The value-at-risk guard warns — increasingly loudly — as your unsold data grows past multiples of your rebuy.
Your unsold cartographic scans with per-body value estimates, including first-discovery (×2.6) and mapping (×3.3) multipliers, plus totals and counts of firsts/mapped.
The SELL YOUR DATA card finds the nearest Universal Cartographics and Vista Genomics ports from where you are (carriers flagged), with jump estimates and one-tap plotting.
With voice callouts on (rail → 🔊 VOICE): first-discovery announcements, fuel-scoop warnings along your plotted route, sample-clearance confirmation, and rebuy/value-at-risk warnings — see Flight Panel Mode.
