Configuration

Use the visual editor for everyday settings. YAML exposes the same settings plus layout identity and saved coordinates.

Minimal card

Select the hub in the editor to obtain its exact name. The editor displays the first discovered hub when no hub is configured; explicitly selecting a hub makes the intended network clear.

Defaults below apply to a new card without saved browser preferences.

The editor's Show detailed view switch is the inverse of map_only. It is not a separate YAML option. Explicit show_labels and map_only values override browser-saved preferences.

Theme mode

Choose Auto, Dark, or Light in the card or panel settings, or set theme_mode: auto, dark, or light in YAML. The selected mode applies to the Zigbee map card. The sidebar header and panel settings dialog keep Home Assistant’s theme. Copy/Paste includes the selected mode.

Panel maps use the available width and height automatically. Map height is only available in dashboard card settings. See Sidebar panel.

For an automatically sized Sections card, omit map_height and set the card's rows using Home Assistant's Layout settings.

Two cards for the same hub

Give otherwise identical cards different layout_id values, such as overview and room-detail. Browser layouts are scoped by dashboard path, hub, card name, layout identity, orientation and grouping.

Legacy configuration

Use orientation and group_by in current configurations. Legacy layout_orientation and layout_group_by guards are accepted on input but removed on save; incompatible guarded coordinates are discarded. The removed show_layout_export setting is also stripped on save. Use the toolbar's Copy action for layout YAML.

layout_seed and log_seed remain in the TypeScript interface but are not read by the current card implementation. They are not needed in new configurations.
