Installation

Requirements

  • A working Home Assistant instance and Wiser integration with your hub configured.
  • The integration must provide the wiser/hubs and wiser/zigbee WebSocket commands used by the card.
  • For development testing only: access to the Wiser integration’s frontend directory.

This card displays the network supplied by the Wiser integration. It does not discover or pair Zigbee devices itself. The visual editor uses native Home Assistant controls.

Release installation

The Wiser integration installs and updates Wiser Zigbee Card automatically. No separate card download, HACS installation, manual bundle replacement or resource configuration is needed.

Add Wiser Zigbee Card to your dashboard, open the visual editor and select Wiser Hub. For manual card configuration:

type: custom:wiser-zigbee-card
hub: your_hub_name

Use the discovered hub name in place of your_hub_name.

Testing a development build

  1. Build the development bundle using the development guide. A local build produces dist/wiser-zigbee-card.js.
  2. Replace the integration’s frontend/wiser-zigbee-card.js, normally at /homeassistant/custom_components/wiser/frontend/wiser-zigbee-card.js (or config/custom_components/wiser/frontend/wiser-zigbee-card.js, depending on how you access the configuration directory).
  3. Reload Home Assistant in the browser.

The integration manages the card resource and its version automatically; no manual resource edit or /local/ resource is needed. An integration update may replace the development bundle with its included release version.

Each card displays one hub. Add a separate card for each additional hub.

Product images are embedded in the bundle; no separate image directory or external image service is required.

Updating

Release updates are installed automatically by the Wiser integration. Reload Home Assistant in each browser or companion app that uses the dashboard after an update.

For development testing, replace the bundle again. The integration manages the resource version automatically. Reload Home Assistant in each browser that uses the dashboard. Keep the card configuration unless you intend to change it. If old controls remain visible, see Troubleshooting.
