Accounts and Sign in
Blank Box uses one shared household account with a local username and password. Separate users, per-user libraries and individual permissions are not available yet. Optional OIDC adds a provider sign-in method for that same account.
If you forget your password, select Forgot password? Use recovery key, enter your username and admin recovery key, and choose a new password. Your library stays intact. Remembered devices are signed out and any linked OIDC identity is disconnected. Keep the recovery key privately; it is in access-key.txt in your data folder.
For OIDC, claim your local account first, configure your provider and exact callback, then explicitly link it under Settings → General → Account sign-in and recovery using your local password. OIDC does not add users or configure HTTPS or outside-home access. Local password sign-in and recovery remain available when your provider is offline.
Follow Accounts and password recovery for configuration and recovery-key paths. These OIDC features are in the current Linux/Docker package; the older experimental Windows download does not include them.
Use the guides included with your installed version for its exact commands. Windows remains experimental. Report feedback without sharing household data or credentials.
