Organizing collections

Collections group titles you want to browse together. A shelf of favorite films, a reading list, a series or a seasonal selection can each use the same underlying library. Grouping titles does not move files or change your physical copy counts.

Open Collections in the sidebar or My Library → Browse collections.

Choose a collection

Collection Use it for
Custom A group of titles you choose individually.
Movie series / franchise A chosen sequence of titles with an order you can edit.
Genre A group that follows matching genres as your library changes.
Smart Rules based on media type, genre, physical format, local activity or year.
Seasonal Rule-based groups with an optional recurring date range. Off-season groups stay accessible.

Different rules must all match. Multiple choices inside one rule allow any selected value. An empty rule accepts any value. A digital source does not satisfy an owned-disc rule, and one physical format does not stand in for another.

Add your own categories

Open a title's Edit details → Custom genres to add labels such as Holiday or Comfort films. These household labels stay separate from provider genres and survive ordinary provider refreshes. Genre filters and rule-based collections can use them.

Your collection membership, custom genres and local activity are saved library records. Removing a collection removes its grouping without deleting its titles or originals.

Physical box sets

A box set is one owned package containing several movies or TV seasons. Add the first title as a physical copy, open its edition and choose Make this a box set. Name the package, then include saved titles or enter missing ones. Choose a season when the package contains part of a TV series.

Physical Media shows one card per box set. Open it to edit contents, location, packaging and release label. Included titles remain searchable and retain their own artwork, details and playback sources. Separately owned copies stay separate. One three-film package is one package, one owned copy and three titles.

Record local activity

Use a title's Activity to record Not started, In progress or Completed. The wording follows the media type. History retains recorded events and lets you undo one without deleting the history.

TV season and episode activity is separate from whole-series activity. Reading or listening resume positions and connected-service refreshes do not automatically change these manual local status records.

Review suggestions and plans

Suggested collections uses your existing library and available references to offer related groups. Review the title list, name and scope before saving. Reference coverage varies; a suggested series is not a complete filmography or proof of physical ownership.

Use Plan missing titles for a chosen collection goal. Add an Intend to Buy entry only when you want that intention recorded. A desired format is your preference, not evidence that an edition exists. Store search links help you look elsewhere; they do not report live prices or availability.

Saved collections and your confirmed facts remain usable when you remove an optional metapack. Back them up along with the rest of your catalog.
