Renders Minecraft maps in three dimensions inside item frames.
A vanilla map, once filled in and placed in an item frame, is no longer drawn as a flat texture. The terrain around that map is captured on the server as a 3D voxel volume and rendered as real 3D geometry inside the frame, using the map's own colours, with water drawn translucent at its true depth.

| Minecraft | Loader | Frames Map 3D | Branch |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1.21.1 | NeoForge 21.1.259 | 1.0.12 | minecraft/1.21.1/neoforge-21.1.259/main |
NeoForge only. There is no Fabric build, and there is no version for any other Minecraft release.
No new items, blocks or entities: the mod registers nothing in the game registries. It works on the vanilla map item you already have.
- Vanilla maps placed in item frames render as 3D terrain.
- Per-map switch between the 2D texture and the 3D view.
- A per-map "start from Y" clip, to hide the deep layers of a map and show only the surface.
- A level-of-detail setting that drops 3D detail with camera distance, for lower-end machines.
- Works on a client without the mod (the map just looks flat), and on a dedicated server.
- Getting Started — install it, put a map in a frame, open the settings.
- Configuration — the two global client options.
- Map Settings — the per-map options, the keybind and the rotate button.
- Compatibility — Iris, multiplayer, dedicated servers, and what is not supported.
- Credits and License — the port and its authorisation.
