Colours and Format
Applies to all six Info TAB branches.
The default format string is "[%dim:name%]" and the default placement is APPEND, which together produce:
PlayerName [Overworld]
The dimension part, including the literal brackets, is coloured as a single block. The player name keeps whatever colour the vanilla tab list would use.
Four tokens are available:
| Token | Produces | Example for minecraft:the_nether
|
|---|---|---|
%dim:id% |
The full dimension id | minecraft:the_nether |
%dim:name% |
The alias if one is set, otherwise the derived name |
Nether with an alias, The Nether without |
%dim:namespace% |
Just the namespace | minecraft |
%dim:path% |
Just the path | the_nether |
Anything outside %dim:...% is copied literally, so you can build strings like <%dim:name%> or [%dim:name%].
- Namespace
minecraft→ the path in Title Case:overworld→Overworld,the_nether→The Nether,the_end→The End. - Any other namespace → Title Case plus the namespace in brackets:
aether:the_aether→The Aether (aether).
Title Case splits on underscores, capitalises the first letter of each word and lowercases the rest.
An alias, when enableAliases is on and an entry matches, replaces the derived name in %dim:name% only. The other three tokens always show the raw id.
Two things are worth knowing because they are easy to trip over:
-
An unknown token renders the path.
%dim:foo%is treated like%dim:path%rather than being left alone. -
Only the middle segment is read.
%dim:name:extra%usesnameand ignoresextra.
Colours are resolved in this order:
- If
perDimColorisfalse, everything usesdefaultColorand the tables below are skipped. - A matching
customColorsentry wins. - Otherwise the three built-in slots: Overworld
overworldColor, NethernetherColor, EndendColor. - Anything else gets
defaultColor.
Defaults: Overworld green, Nether red, End dark purple, everything else gold.
The sixteen vanilla colour names, lowercase:
black, dark_blue, dark_green, dark_aqua, dark_red, dark_purple, gold, gray, dark_gray, blue, green, aqua, red, light_purple, yellow, white
And a hex value, with or without the hash:
#RRGGBB
RRGGBB
Anything else falls back to gold. It never errors and never produces invisible text, so a typo in a colour quietly gives you gold rather than telling you about it.
There is no sorting, grouping or column layout. The player list is not reordered, not bucketed into categories, and gets no headers. Only the text of each entry is rewritten, so the vanilla order and the vanilla row layout are untouched.
