Cats and Behaviors

| Collection | Available names |
|---|---|
| Original illustrated cats | Marmalade, Midnight, Snowball, Tuxedo, Calico |

Mix the collections freely. Open Choose your cats and Ctrl-click up to eight names before enabling the guard.
Cats walk, sit, groom, and pause between activities. Awake companions occasionally approach each other and greet with a heart. Cursor play, mouse chases, and naps take priority over greetings, so every moment need not look the same.
With Chase playful cursor enabled, quick back-and-forth cursor movement can excite a cat for play and wake a sleeping cat.
Cats can nap throughout the starting monitor's working area. Each reserves a separate sleeping spot; they can sleep next to one another without choosing the same exact location. If space is limited, a cat waits for a suitable spot.
Naps last about 30–45 seconds and occur naturally over time.

Staged scene rendered with the application's actual cats and mouse.
Cats use the working area of the monitor where the cursor was when the guard started. To move them to another monitor, disable the guard, move the cursor to that monitor, and enable it again.
Cat artwork accepts clicks for petting. The toy mouse and clear space around cats remain click-through.
The five illustrated cats are original vector artwork. The seven realistic coats use transparent animation frames rendered from the supplied Blender cat rig. Blender is needed only to rebuild those assets, not to use CatX.
See animation build documentation for the asset pipeline and licensing information.
