Package manager and runtime

package.json pins packageManager: pnpm@11.21.0 and engines.node: ">=22". project.contract.json records runtime node 24.18.0 and the pnpm version with its pnpm-lock.yaml. pnpm-workspace.yaml has packages: [] plus an overrides block that forces patched versions of minimatch, rollup, esbuild, ajv, tar, undici, and others, and an allowBuilds block that permits build scripts for @prisma/client, @prisma/engines, electron, esbuild, and prisma, and denies them for @sentry/cli, sharp, and unrs-resolver.

Lint

eslint.config.mjs is flat ESLint 9 config built from eslint-config-next/core-web-vitals and eslint-config-next/typescript, with typescript-eslint underneath. It ignores .next/, node_modules/, prisma/generated/, coverage/, dist/, dist-electron/, and tsconfig.tsbuildinfo. Three rules are relaxed: @next/next/no-html-link-for-pages, @typescript-eslint/no-explicit-any, and react-hooks/set-state-in-effect. Run it with pnpm run lint.

Typecheck

Two TypeScript configs. tsconfig.json covers the lib/ and types/ surface, sets noEmit: true, strict: true, and the @/* path alias. tsconfig.desktop.json extends it for the desktop build: CommonJS, ES2020, noEmit: false, outDir: ./dist-electron, and an explicit include of desktop/bootstrap.ts, desktop/main.ts, desktop/preload.ts, desktop/renderer/strings.ts, and desktop/renderer/renderer.ts. pnpm run typecheck runs db:generate first, then tsc --noEmit.

Prisma

pnpm run db:generate runs the Prisma CLI through a Node wrapper. If DATABASE_URL and DIRECT_URL are unset it assigns a process-local placeholder PostgreSQL URL, so generation works with no database and never connects. The schema is prisma/schema.prisma.

Desktop build

pnpm run desktop:build clears dist-electron/, creates dist-electron/desktop/renderer, runs db:generate, compiles the desktop TypeScript with tsc -p tsconfig.desktop.json, then uses a PowerShell step to stamp the package version into the renderer HTML by replacing __SENTRA_VERSION__ and to copy desktop/renderer/index.css into the output. pnpm run start and pnpm run desktop:dev run this build before launching Electron.

Test runners

vitest.config.ts drives unit and renderer tests. playwright.config.ts drives the Electron end-to-end spec. See Testing.

Standalone boundary tooling

scripts/verify-structure.mjs and scripts/verify-extraction.mjs enforce the standalone contract, and scripts/deploy-dry-run.mjs confirms the built desktop artifacts exist. scripts/optimizer-acceptance.ts runs the dry-run and benchmark harness through tsx. See Development workflow.
