Use Check’s browser extension to add media to your workspace and annotate items without leaving third-party websites.
To start using Check’s browser extension, download the extension for Chrome or Firefox.
If you’re unable to open the Check browser extension or log in to your Check account through the browser extension, you may need to unblock third-party cookies:
- On Chrome
- Navigate to chrome://settings/cookies.
- Under the Allowed to use third-party cookies field, click Add.
- Add [*.]checkmedia.org.
- Then add chrome-extension://pjfgpbclkfjkfiljlcfehjmpafeoafdi/.
- On Firefox
- Navigate to Firefox’s settings.
- Click Privacy and Security.
- Under Cookies and Site Data, click Manage Expectations.
- Add checkmedia.org and click Allow.
- Add https://addons.mozilla.org/en-GB/firefox/addon/check/ and click Allow.
- Click Save changes.
To add a link to Check via the browser extension:
- Navigate to the link you’d like to add.
- Click the installed browser extension button at the top right-hand corner of your browser. A sidebar will appear on the right.
- Click Save.
- [Optional] Continue your editorial workflow by clicking Open in Check once Check has added the link to your workspace.
After adding a link to Check via the browser extension:
- Navigate to the Annotation tab of the browser extension.
- Click on the icon.
- Select relevant tags for the item. Note that it’s not possible to create new tags in the browser extension.
- Click Tag.
