whatsapp tipline promotion
Fact-checkers can improve awareness of their WhatsApp tiplines in many ways. Here are a few common strategies:
Allow your audience to easily access your tipline by copying WABA links available on your tipline settings. Simply click the tipline button and copy the link which can be pasted anywhere online.

The WABA link can also be pasted into the report settings section to follow all fact-check reports sent to tipline users:

✨ TIP: On web pages, add the WABA link in a static position so it is always visible as readers scroll through fact-check articles.

QR codes can also be found by accessing the WhatsApp tipline settings. Add them to Facebook or Twitter banners allowing users to open it when they scan.

QR codes can also be used in print ads posted in strategic locations. Examples are:
- In 2022 Brazil's election WhatsApp QR codes of fact-check agencies were printed as full-page ads in major Brazilian newspapers.

-
EFE Verifica partnered with the General Council of Official Associations of Pharmacists of Spain to promote tipline awareness via posters with QR codes displayed in over 22,000 pharmacies across Spain during the COVID-19 pandemic.

-
India's Vishvas newspaper publishes ads with QR codes on a monthly basis.

Make use of instructional videos or screenshots to demonstrate the bot's functionality and its services, such as this great example from one of our Partners:
