Troubleshooting

Construction will not start

  • Hold a Siegeworks blueprint and an Axiomata construction hammer.
  • Aim at a block rather than empty space.
  • Clear enough ground and vertical space for the full machine preview.
  • Move entities and other constructions out of the preview volume.
  • Check the server's deployment limit for that engine.

A construction hit is rejected

Right-click the highlighted section itself. The material may be in your inventory, but hitting another part of the preview does not advance the current stage.

Loading stops

Stay within nine blocks and keep the requested item in the same hand until the progress finishes. Death, moving away, changing the held item or changing the machine's state cancels only the current stage.

A machine will not move

  • The tower crossbow, trebuchet and siege ladder are stationary by default.
  • Check both the speed and matching turn rate in siegeworks-server.toml.
  • A directly operated siege tower needs the configured minimum crew.
  • A draft mount must be tamed and saddled where applicable before attachment.
  • A machine being dismantled cannot be operated.

A weapon will not fire

  • Complete the loading stages in the order shown by the action bar.
  • Wait for winding and recovery to finish.
  • Tower crossbows and arcballistas fire with Space while mounted.
  • Field guns fire when the final flint-and-steel stage completes.
  • A mounted mangonel fires with Space; it can also be used from the ground when ready.
  • A trebuchet fires with an empty-hand right-click after winding.
  • A hwacha needs at least one rocket before it can be ignited.

The mantlet will not dismount

Shift closes the shutter while operating a mantlet. Double-tap Shift to dismount.

The siege tower bridge will not respond

Stand on the third floor and right-click with an empty hand. Sneak-right-click changes the landing-angle preset instead of toggling the bridge.

A machine ignores damage

Built-in profiles accept axes, vindicators, explosions and direct hits from Siegeworks bolts or rockets. Data packs can change the accepted sources.
