Defiant is a 1989 Bayfield 36, designed by H. Ted Gozzard and also sold as the Gozzard 36 (essentially the same hull with different finishes — references and polar diagrams span both names). USCG documented, hailing port Philadelphia. Her refit began in July 2025 and is currently underway.
This wiki is the long-form companion to refit project planner and the captain's log. This wiki is intended to capture all those bits you struggle to find later - measurements, part numbers, wiring runs, configuration, gotchas - as well as the ongoing decision rationale.
This also serves as a technical log of sorts, and saves normal people the pain of sifting through overly complex notes in the log.
