Adding tasks

Basic tasks

On the This Week page, type a title into "Add a task..." and click Add. That's it — it starts as a personal task, visible only to you.

Click "+ More options" before adding to also set:

  • A due date
  • Tags
  • Share with a household or a friend (see Sharing tasks)
  • An assignee (if shared to a household)

Once a task exists, each task card has:

  • A checkbox to mark it complete
  • Comments (collapsed by default — click to open)
  • Checklist (see Subtasks below)
  • +Tag to add a tag

Recurring tasks

Recurring tasks (like "take out the trash every Tuesday") are set up separately on the Recurring page, not from the regular add-task box. Create a template with:

  • A title and optional description
  • How often it repeats — daily, weekly (on specific days), or monthly
  • A start date

New instances are generated automatically on schedule. A recurring instance that's missed just resets for the next occurrence — it doesn't pile up as backlog the way a regular task would.

Subtasks (checklists)

Any task can have a checklist. Click Checklist on a task to expand it, then use "Add a checklist item..." to add steps. Check items off individually — a completed item stays in place with a strikethrough rather than jumping to the bottom. Drag items to reorder them.

Recurring templates can have their own checklist too — it gets copied onto every new instance the template generates.
