Task rolling & the 3rd-roll flag
This is the core idea behind how "This Week" works.
Rolling
An incomplete task doesn't disappear at the end of the week — it automatically carries forward into the next week. This happens on its own; you don't need to do anything. Each time a task rolls over, it's counted.
(This applies to regular tasks. Recurring instances work differently — a missed one just resets for its next occurrence instead of rolling and counting up.)
The 3rd-roll flag
If a task rolls over three weeks in a row without being completed, it gets flagged. You'll see a banner on it:
This has rolled 3 weeks in a row — prioritize it or move it to your backlog?
with two buttons:
Prioritize — clears the flag and resets the count, keeping it in This Week. Use this for something you still genuinely intend to do soon.
Backlog — moves it to your Backlog instead, out of the weekly rolling list. Use this for something you're deliberately setting aside rather than actually planning to do this week.
The point is to surface things that keep quietly getting skipped, instead of letting them pile up unnoticed forever.
