Live Sessions and Window Sharing
cli.risaboss.com is the web entry point for your live BOSS sessions. Sign in with the same BOSS account used on the host device.
| Section on Live Sessions | What is shared |
|---|---|
| BossTerm live sessions | Live terminals shared from the standalone BossTerm app or the Terminal plugin inside BossConsole. |
| BossConsole live sessions | Shared BossConsole application windows, with their visible tabs and panes. |
The dashboard discovers existing sessions. The host app remains responsible for running the session and making it available.
- On the host, run a current BossConsole build and sign in.
- In Settings, find BossConsole Sharing. Check Share automatically after sign-in and Use media relay.
- On macOS, grant Screen Recording permission using the sharing settings or the system privacy settings. Restart the app if macOS asks you to.
- On your other device, open cli.risaboss.com and sign in with the same account. The sign-in page supports an emailed sign-in link.
- Open an entry under BossConsole live sessions. If more than one window is available, use the viewer's window selector.
You can also open another instance's window from Remote Connections in BossConsole's sharing settings, using Open in BossConsole or Open in browser.
For a fresh configuration, automatic sharing and the media relay are on. A saved opt-out stays off. Automatic sharing is still conditional on the signed-in account, eligible visible BossConsole windows, and capture permission.
Under Account Access, these preferences default to on:
- Allow my devices without approval — your signed-in devices can connect to an active share.
- Allow my devices to take control — a device on your account can acquire control without a host approval prompt.
Only one remote controller is active at a time. The host can use Take back control. The viewer's Take control button lets you request or retry control when it is not active.
Turning off automatic admission blocks automatic access; this preview does not provide a guest/manual approval flow. Turning off automatic control removes remote control while allowing eligible viewing.
Use the existing sharing menu in the title bar to manage window sharing. The application menu also offers Window → Share Selected BossConsole Windows. Selection changes apply when you start the selected-window share from that menu.
Stop sharing pauses the automatic share until the next sign-in or an explicit re-enable. To keep it off across sign-ins, disable Share automatically after sign-in. Turning off Use media relay also stops window sharing.
Capture pauses when nobody is viewing a window. Closing or hiding the captured window, signing out, locking the host, sleeping, or losing capture permission can end sharing.
The shared window is an encrypted video stream, not a second browser loading the same website. Remote pointer and keyboard input are sent back to the host while you hold control.
The host publishes each shared window once to the Cloudflare Realtime SFU. Viewers subscribe to that publication; the host does not encode a separate video stream for each viewer. Video and control payloads use application-level encryption. The account backend is trusted for admission and key delivery; see Security and privacy.

Same-account admission authorizes the viewers, and one controller lease authorizes remote input. The account/key registry is the control plane for this flow; the relay forwards the media and control payloads.
The bottom bar shows connection state, received resolution, client and remote frame-rate/network measurements, Fullscreen, and Disconnect. When no frame is available, the viewer shows the BOSS placeholder. A hosted viewer returns to the session list after disconnect or an unrecoverable connection failure.
Full-window publishing is a preview with a macOS 14+ host capture requirement. Windows/Linux host capture is not currently delivered by this implementation. Viewing also requires a browser that supports the encrypted media transforms used by the protocol.
The share is scoped to BossConsole windows; it is not whole-display capture. Guest access, audio, file transfer, and clipboard synchronization are not enabled for application sharing. Native system menus, system sheets, and IME behavior should not be assumed to match ordinary application content.
Terminal sharing has its own View/Control links and connection policy. Do not treat a terminal share link as a BossConsole window-sharing invitation.
