Spaces and Everyday Use

Spaces and everyday use

BossConsole brings several work surfaces into one desktop window. The browser, terminal, editor, and other tab types are contributed by plugins, so the available surfaces depend on your installed tools and account access.

Tabs and split panes

Use separate tabs for separate pages, terminals, or files. Split the window when you want to keep an agent conversation, its terminal output, and the page or file it is changing visible together. Move tabs between panes to arrange the work around your task.

Keep independent activities in separate Spaces instead of repeatedly rebuilding the same layout.

Spaces

A Space is a saved working layout: its panes, tabs, and associated project context. The code and older technical documents may call this a workspace.

Built-in templates provide starting layouts for tasks such as using an agent or reviewing code. Templates that need a project are materialized for the project you select; Browser Only can be opened without one. Save your own Space when you want to return to a particular arrangement.

Browser, terminal, and editor

Surface Typical work
Fluck Browser Open and interact with websites alongside your agent; use browser tools for supported automation.
Terminal Run commands and agent CLIs, inspect output, create splits, and share a terminal session. Powered by BossTerm.
Code Editor Read and edit project files. Powered by BossEditor through the editor plugin.
Toolbox Install and manage plugins, inspect MCP tools, and control tool exposure.

If a tab type is unavailable, check its plugin in Toolbox. Signing in does not install every plugin or grant every organization permission.

Keyboard shortcuts

BossConsole has configurable keymaps, context-aware bindings, and presets including BOSS Default, VS Code, IntelliJ IDEA, and Emacs. Use the shortcut settings to inspect your active bindings rather than assuming every preset uses the same keys.

See the keyboard shortcuts reference for presets, import/export, and troubleshooting.

Share the work

Terminal sharing mirrors a terminal session. BossConsole window sharing mirrors a selected application window, including its visible browser, editor, terminal, and other panes. Choose the appropriate session in Live Sessions; see Live sessions and window sharing.
