PRDs and roadmap

The extension uses Product Requirements Documents (PRDs) to plan and track features.

What are PRDs

Markdown documents in docs/prd/ that describe a proposed change: context, requirements, solution, test plan, and rollout. Each PRD goes through a 4-stage lifecycle.

Lifecycle

The folder where the file lives is the source of truth for its status. The file is moved between folders as it progresses.

How to propose a PRD

1. Create a note prd-NN-slug in docs/brain/20-PRDs/ from _templates/template-prd.md and fill in the frontmatter (status: proposed).
2. Run npm run brain:sync && npm run brain:build to regenerate docs/prd/index.md and the files under docs/prd/.
3. Run npm run sync-prds to create the GitHub issue.
