ALI Compat

ALI Compat is an optional add-on jar that teaches Advanced Loot Info to read loot from other mods that do not ship support of their own. It is not needed to use Advanced Loot Info — install it only if you play with one of the mods listed below.

What it changes

Advanced Loot Info understands vanilla loot out of the box, and a mod can teach it its own loot by shipping a plugin (developer docs). Many mods do not. Their loot then shows up incomplete: a trade missing from the villager list, a drop shown as unformatted data under "Auto-detected", a loot modifier that never appears, an entry the tree cannot open.

ALI Compat fills those gaps from the outside. For every mod in the list below it adds some of:

loot entries	drops the tree could not expand, e.g. a mod's own kind of "random item from a pool"
functions and conditions	readable text instead of unformatted data under "Auto-detected"
ingredients	the items a mod-added recipe ingredient actually accepts
trades	offers of the mod's traders, including entities that are not villagers
mob variants	loot listed per variant of a mob, instead of one merged list
loot modifiers	the mod's global loot modifiers, on the tables they apply to

Mods that are not in the list are unaffected — ALI Compat does nothing for them, and installing it never changes loot itself, only what you see.

Installation

ALI Compat requires Advanced Loot Info and Advanced Core Info for the same Minecraft version and loader; install those first (Getting Started). Then download ALI Compat from Modrinth or CurseForge and drop the jar into mods/.

Like Advanced Loot Info itself, it belongs on both the client and the server in multiplayer.

Nothing has to be enabled: each mod's support switches itself on when that mod is present, and stays inactive otherwise. There is no configuration.

Support is written against one version of each mod. When the installed version has changed something ALI Compat reads, that one piece of support switches itself off with a warning in the log, and what it covered shows as unformatted data under "Auto-detected" again — the game keeps running and the rest of the mod's support still works.

Supported mods

Support is added mod by mod and Minecraft version by Minecraft version, so the lists differ — a mod supported on one Minecraft version is not automatically supported on another. Open the version you play.

The Loaders column names the loaders that support is built for; it says all unless the mod itself exists on only some of them.

Ask for it — open an issue or say so on Discord. Useful things to include:

• the mod, its Minecraft version and loader,
• what is wrong: a missing trade, a drop shown as unformatted data, an entry that will not open, a loot modifier that is not listed,
• where you see it: the item, block or mob you looked up.

Mod authors do not need ALI Compat at all: loot from a mod that ships its own plugin is read directly, and that support works on every Minecraft version the mod is built for. See Developers.
