Users Loot Info Global Loot Modifiers
Forge and NeoForge only. Global loot modifiers (GLM) are datapack files that add, replace or remove drops across many loot tables at once — they are the usual way mods add "every ore also drops X" style behaviour.
ALI reads the loaded global loot modifiers and folds them into the loot tree, so a drop that only exists because of a GLM still shows up on the block or mob it applies to, marked as coming from a modifier.
- The extra entries appear in the loot tree of every table the modifier matches.
- The modifier's own conditions (what state the block is in, which tool was used, …) are shown like ordinary conditions, so you can tell when the extra drop actually happens. The condition that merely picks the block, mob or loot table is not repeated — the page you are looking at already says it.
- If ALI does not recognise the modifier, it is still shown — as its raw data under an Auto-detected heading (see Interface).
ALI takes each page — a block, a mob or a loot table — and asks the modifier's conditions what they say there. A condition that can never hold on that page rules the modifier out entirely: a drop that needs a player kill never appears on a chest, and a condition naming one block keeps the modifier off every other block. A condition that cannot be settled in advance, such as a random chance, the tool used or the weather, leaves the page open instead.
A modifier is shown on the pages its conditions select, but only where it can actually do something — a modifier
that replaces Iron Ore is not listed on a table that never produces Iron Ore. A page that produces no items at all
keeps the modifier, since there is nothing to rule it out. An auto-detected modifier alone does not bring back a
block that only drops itself (hideDefaultBlockLoot).
Some modifiers are selected by no page at all: they apply everywhere and decide at runtime, by looking at the
dropped item. Those are hidden by default, because a single one of them would otherwise appear on hundreds of
pages. Set showUnboundedGlobalLootModifiers to true in the config to see them;
they then appear wherever nothing rules them out and one of their operations matches an item of the page.
- Fabric has no equivalent datapack mechanism, so there is nothing to read there. Mods that add loot on Fabric in their own way have to tell ALI about it themselves — that is up to the mod author (developer docs).
- A properly worded description of a modded modifier — instead of the raw data — requires that mod to add support for ALI. See Developers → Global Loot Modifiers.
- A modifier that picks its targets in a way only its own mod understands — a condition reading that mod's own
state, or a target written into the modifier itself — is selected by no page. It then shows up only with
showUnboundedGlobalLootModifiersenabled — again, something the mod can fix by adding ALI support.
