Steam Deck

Firestaff can run on Steam Deck through Linux builds and Steam Input.

Recommended Setup

  1. Install or unpack the Linux build.
  2. Add Firestaff as a non-Steam game.
  3. Put original game data under:
~/.firestaff/data/
  1. Configure Steam Input.

Suggested Steam Input Mapping

  • D-pad: arrow keys
  • Left stick: arrow keys or WASD
  • A: confirm / primary click
  • B: cancel / escape
  • Q/E or shoulder buttons: turn left/right
  • Start: pause/menu where supported

Firestaff's own controller mapping UI is planned, but Steam Input is currently the most reliable Deck-level mapping layer.

Package Note

If a package does not install with pacman, use the portable build or add it as a non-Steam game. SteamOS is Arch-based, but not every Linux package format is a native pacman package.
