No. It contains no keys, no games and no copyrighted content, and never downloads them. It manages the backups you
already have and reads them with your own prod.keys.
No. Without them games are recognized by their file names, like Game [0100000000010000][v0].nsp. With them the app
reads the files themselves (also with wrong names), checks them, and can compress, split and pack them.
Every compressed file is decompressed again and compared with the original before the original is deleted, file by file; nothing is deleted if anything differs, and the original stays unless you choose to delete it. Even a wrong key cannot lose data, it only compresses worse. See how files are checked.
DBI and Tinfoil install them directly. For a tool that only takes NSP, decompress the NSZ again on the Compress page.
Two files hold the same game, update or DLC. The app keeps one and lists the other; choose which in Organize › Copy of a duplicate to keep, or with Keep this one in Issues. A cartridge with several games is never deleted while it holds something you keep. See Organize and duplicates.
The update may be in a file the app could not read (see Issues), or the titles database knows of a newer one than yours. Open the game page: the version history shows the one installed and the latest.
Cheats are made for one version of a game. When the database has cheats only for other versions, the game page says which, and Filters › Other › With cheats for another version lists those games; update (or keep) the game to that version. The app keeps the old update that has cheats when the newer one has none. See Cheats.
It is a collection: one cartridge with several games, each with its update. Organize names it after all of them so it is not mistaken for the update of one game. See Cartridges with several games.
Yes, once the titles database is downloaded. Without internet there are no new updates, covers, cheats or times to beat, but the library, compression and organizing work.
Everything is in the data folder: settings, users, favorites, collections, history, caches, covers and keys. Copy
that folder to the new place and point the new installation to it. Weekly backups of the configuration are in its
backups folder (Settings and backups).
Create an administrator first: until one exists the app refuses everything from outside your network. It protects against brute force, bots and the usual web attacks, and supports HTTPS behind a reverse proxy or Cloudflare. A VPN is still the safest. See Users and security.
Open an issue with the report of Settings › Diagnostics (it holds no keys or passwords). Never post your keys.
