Modern Menu

CYM provides two selectable home layouts: Modern and Classic. The Modern Menu was designed and developed by CYM co-developer @birolt29. It reorganizes the same underlying screens into four purpose-based categories, preserving feature behavior while reducing the number of unrelated tiles on the home screen.

Choose Modern—or change back

  • First boot: when no Home-layout preference has been saved, CYM automatically opens the Home Layout chooser. Tap Modern to open the four-category home immediately.
  • Switch later: open Settings → Screen, select Modern in the Home: row, then tap Save.
  • Change back: open Settings → Screen, select Classic in the Home: row, then tap Save. This restores the original tile-oriented Home menu.

The choice is stored in NVS and persists across reboot and firmware updates. Switching layouts does not require a reboot and does not remove tools, settings, or captures.

The category grid automatically sizes itself for portrait and landscape displays. Category screens scroll when the available vertical space is too short for all tiles.

Attack authorization

Touching Attack first opens the shared ACTIVE ATTACKS authorization warning. Cancel returns to the Modern home. I Understand opens the category. This category acknowledgement does not suppress warnings shown before individual active attacks.

Use active-attack functions only on networks, devices, and radio environments you own or have explicit authorization to test. Research and follow the laws applicable in your country.

Detect & Defend

The Detect & Defend category contains both a grouped Detectors submenu and direct shortcuts for frequently used defensive tools.

Tile Purpose
Detectors Opens the Pwn Detect, Deauth Harvest, and BLE Spam Detect submenu.
Deauth Harvest Direct shortcut to the passive 2.4 GHz behavioral detector. It observes deauthentication/disassociation activity and possible association sweeps. It uses cautious wording because management-frame source addresses can be spoofed.
Deauth Mon. Opens CYM's original deauthentication monitor. This is a separate tool from Deauth Harvest.
Drone Detect Opens the passive Remote ID drone detector.

Deauth Harvest versus Deauth Mon.

These tiles are intentionally separate:

  • Deauth Harvest correlates 2.4 GHz deauth/disassociation activity and association behavior, tracks possible multi-AP sweeps, provides a received-frame RSSI view, and ages stale records after 60 seconds.
  • Deauth Mon. is the original deauthentication monitoring screen.

The direct Deauth Harvest shortcut also remains inside Detectors, so users can reach it either from the defensive grouping or directly from the Modern Defend category.

Conditional tiles

  • Radio and Infrared appear only when the NM-RF-HAT option is enabled.
  • Zigbee Scout appears only on builds with IEEE 802.15.4 support, such as ESP32-C5 targets.
  • Hardware-specific functionality inside a shared submenu remains governed by the active board profile.

Back and Home behavior

  • Back returns to the current Modern category when a tool was launched from that category.
  • Home returns to the four-category Modern home.
  • Switching to Classic changes only the navigation layout; it does not remove tools or erase settings and captures.

Classic layout

Classic retains the original tile-oriented navigation. Detect & Defend appears as a Classic tile, with Pwn Detect, Deauth Harvest, and BLE Spam Detect inside its submenu. See the main repository README Menu Map for both layouts.
