A preset is a .rsrgp file (RomStation Rebase Game Preset) that stores:
- the checked games
- every setting of the rebase window
- the rules changed game by game: Romset, M3U, Extraction, Conversion
- Open… (Ctrl+O): checks the games of the file and keeps its settings for the next Rebase to…. No window opens
- Save (Ctrl+S): saves to the loaded file. With no file loaded, asks for a name
- Arrow to the right of Save: Save as… (Ctrl+Shift+S)
- Close: closes the preset and unchecks its games
The name of the preset appears in the title bar, followed by a dot as long as changes are left to save. RSRebase offers to save before quitting, opening another preset or closing it.
Save this configuration, next to Start, saves the games and the settings of the window. The arrow gives Save as….
The settings of a loaded preset do not replace the last settings used without a preset.
.rsrgp files are associated from within RSRebase, whether the application comes from the MSI installer or from the ZIP. The first time a preset is saved, RSRebase offers to create the association:
The question is asked only once. In Settings, Presets section, the Associate .rsrgp files with RomStation Rebase button does the same.
- No administrator rights. Run RSRebase normally, not "as administrator"
- The association applies to the current Windows account
- With several copies of RSRebase, files open with the copy associated last
- A double-click on a
.rsrgpfile starts RSRebase and opens the preset. During a rebase, it opens once the rebase window is closed - Remove the .rsrgp file association, in the Settings, undoes that link. Do it before uninstalling RSRebase or deleting the folder of the ZIP version: uninstalling does not remove the association
- If it fails, the message carries the code RSR-6006
On opening, RSRebase reports the differences with the library in a single dialog, before changing anything:
- IGNORED: games missing from the library. They will be removed from the preset at the next save
- FOUND: games recognized by their title and system, their identifier having changed
- REPLACED: the architecture of the preset no longer exists, the default architecture takes its place
- TO CHECK: destination folder not found, or file created by a more recent version of RSRebase
Continue opens the preset, Cancel opening changes nothing.
A .rsrgp is a text file in JSON format, which can be copied, renamed or shared. On another machine, games are found by their RomStation identifier, then by their title and system.
