Plaid is in active community testing — your reports make it better.
- Grab the journal output:
journalctl -b -o cat | grep '\[plaid\]'
- Open an issue and include:
- What you were doing when it happened
- The journal output
- Whether you're on one monitor or several
That journal line is worth its weight in gold — it shows exactly what Plaid was doing at the time.
- Multi-monitor reports — setups with multiple monitors are especially valuable to test.
- Popups and odd windows — apps that open unusual popups are how we find the next auto-float case.
- Reproduction steps — "open X, press Y, watch Z" beats paragraphs.
Feature requests and pull requests are welcome — head to the issues page and start a discussion.
The project is a GNOME Shell extension (JavaScript). A dev loop looks like:
git clone https://github.com/Plyply99/Plaid
cd Plaid
./sync.sh # copy source to the installed location
# log out and back in, then test
./build.sh # produce dist/plaid@plyply99.zip for a releaseThe repository also ships TESTING.md with the full scaling/resolution test campaign used to verify each release.
