Snapping

Chisel snaps what you move and draw, so brushes line up exactly.

  • Pivot to grid (toggle with Shift+P): an object's pivot snaps to the grid as you move it.
  • Bounds to grid (toggle with Shift+B): the bounds of what you move snap to the grid, so its sides land on grid lines.
  • Moving, rotating and scaling snap by steps. Halve or double the grid size with [ and ]; the rotate and scale steps have shortcuts too (Edit > Shortcuts, under Chisel).
  • New shapes are drawn on the surface under the mouse, and their points snap to the grid on that surface.
  • When you move textures with the UV tools, they snap to the grid, and to the edges and corners of the shapes.

The settings are in the Chisel Snap Settings overlay of the scene view.

Not done yet: snapping to the vertices, edges and surfaces of other geometry while moving objects.
