Appearance

Wayfinder → More → Appearance ("Theme, and which screen Wayfinder opens on").

The page shows Theme and Your own colours first. Glass backdrop, See-through glass, Light refraction and Hub screen are behind More options.

This page also covers Hints & pop-ups (More → Hints & pop-ups) — see below.

Theme

Theme: System (default), Light, Dark or Black.

  • System follows Android's light or dark mode.
  • Black — dark glass on pure black. OLED screens show true black and use less power (no aurora, no background blur).

The theme applies to Wayfinder's screens, the Quick panel and its overlays. (The Dark theme tile of the Quick panel is Android's theme, not Wayfinder's.)

Your own colours

Your own colours (off by default) — a flat look in your colours, with no glass and no blur. It applies to Wayfinder, the Quick panel and "Your controls".

When it's on, you pick four colours:

  • Background
  • Cards
  • Text
  • Accent

For each one, use the colour wheel, or type a hex code (like #1A2B3C) in the box under it.

Turn it off to go back to the glass theme above.

Glass backdrop

More options → Glass backdrop:

  • Your background (default) — your own background, blurred live behind the glass. It falls back to Aurora if the system turns blur off (for example in battery saver).
  • Aurora — Wayfinder's drifting colour aurora, flowing across both screens.

See-through glass

More options → See-through glass — how much of what's behind shows through, here and in the Quick panel:

  • Transparency (50 % by default)
  • Blur (50 % by default)

Light refraction

More options → Light refraction: On (default) or Off. On: the glass edges catch the light (with the aurora, the glass also bends it). Off: plain frosted glass. This setting only appears if your system supports it.

Hub screen: which screen Wayfinder opens on

More options → Hub screen: Top screen (default) or Bottom screen.

  • Top screen — Wayfinder opens on top, and the bottom screen shows Your controls (every combo, the AYN button's tap and hold when you gave them an action, and a Close background apps button). You can turn "Your controls" off (see below).
  • Bottom screen — Wayfinder opens on the bottom screen, so the top stays free for your game.

Game controls (Home + X) also opens on this screen.

Hints & pop-ups

Wayfinder → More → Hints & pop-ups ("What Wayfinder shows on its own — each can go"). The row on the More page says how many of the three are on.

Recent apps — the controller hint — the hint that shows the buttons when Recent apps opens:

  • Words (default), Symbols or Off (the buttons still work).
  • Where (for Words and Symbols): Top (default), Top left, Top right, Bottom left or Bottom right. See Two screens.

Combo list while you hold a button — the list of combos when you hold Home, Back or the AYN button:

  • Soon (default) — it shows after a moment.
  • Later — it shows only after a longer hold, so quick combos never flash it.
  • Off — no list. The combos still work. (The welcome tour still shows it.)

"Your controls" on the other screen (on by default) — while Wayfinder is open on the top screen, the bottom screen shows your combos. Off: the bottom screen keeps what it shows.
