Everything that goes on a vehicle is crafted at the Auto Mechanic Table, which has its own recipe type: a flat list of ingredients in any arrangement, no grid.
Open it and use the arrows at the top to switch between Frames, Engines, Wheels and Attachments. Missing ingredients show as red-tinted ghosts and can be pulled straight out of your inventory with shift-click.
A few examples:
| Part | Ingredients |
|---|---|
| Stone engine | logs, coal, furnace, stone crafting materials, logs |
| Iron engine | iron ingot, furnace, block of redstone, block of iron, stone crafting materials |
| Diamond engine | diamond, furnace, block of redstone, obsidian, diamond |
| Standard wheel | black wool, iron nugget |
| Off-road wheel | black wool, block of iron, black wool → 2 wheels |
| Wooden motorcar frame | redstone, stone, leather, planks, planks, smooth stone, stick, iron ingot |
| Pineapple frame | blaze powder, carved pumpkin, flowers — only three ingredients |
The full list is in the in-game guide book and on the Parts page.
Place an Automobile Assembler and put parts into it, in this order:
- A frame first.
- Then an engine.
- Then four wheels, all of the same kind.
Every frame in the game has exactly four wheel positions, so a car always needs four wheels, and the assembler refuses a mismatched set. The very interaction that supplies the last part builds the vehicle, plays an anvil sound, and clears the assembler.
Attachment items are rejected by the assembler. Attachments go onto the finished vehicle — see Attachments.
Walk into the vehicle or right-click it to mount. There is one driver seat and room for two passengers if you have fitted a passenger seat attachment.
The vehicle has no fuel and no durability. It never runs out and can be left parked forever.
Hit the vehicle with a crowbar. Which part comes off depends on where you hit it:
- Hit the front → the front attachment comes off, if it has one.
- Anywhere else → the rear attachment comes off, if it has one.
- With no attachments left → the whole vehicle is destroyed and drops 1 frame, 1 engine and 4 wheels.
In creative mode you get the parts back without consuming the crowbar. Breaking the assembler itself also drops whatever parts it is holding.
There are 33 ready-made prefab vehicles in the Motorcade: Prefabs creative tab. Right-clicking the ground with one spawns a complete, drivable vehicle. They are the fastest way to try the mod out.
